Dr. Jim Coffield
Dr. Jim Coffield is joining us at BUILD for the third time this year. He has served at Christ Covenant Church since 2017 after teaching for many years at RTS Orlando. He is the director Compass Counseling a counseling center that partners with the the church. Jim works with Leader’s Collective to mentor, train and counsel pastors and church planters. His background includes working within the church as a youth pastor and counselor, and in educational settings as a teacher and basketball coach. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee in counseling psychology and is a licensed psychologist. Dr. Coffield brings a wide variety of teaching and clinical experience. His clinical experience includes counseling in private practice, college, church-based, and hospital settings. His teaching reflects his love of story and humor. His research and clinical interests include adoption, special needs children, narrative psychology, and counselor training. He is married to Mona and they have two sons and one daughter, Skylar, Pearce and Kim.
Holly Melton
Holly Melton graduated from the University of Arizona in 1999 with a Marriage and Family Therapy degree, joined staff with Cru, and was placed at UC Berkeley and ministered on the campus there for 5 years. Holly left Berkeley in 2004 and headed to East Asia for two years. Within those two years, her team saw over 1,400 college students surrender their lives to Christ, and ministries were started on 12 campuses in their city. All discipleship and training were underground, and they saw the Lord work in miraculous ways.
Holly served on the Regional Leadership Team of the Pacific Southwest 2006-2014 as the Campus Field National Director.
Her passion is to speak and teach others how to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit so that they can appropriately share Jesus with others. She is the author of 6 books.
Holly has her Masters in Theology and Biblical Studies from Phoenix Seminary under Dr. Wayne Grudem. She serves as an Evangelism Initiatives Strategist for the Cru Campus Ministry, specifically partnering with The Chosen to help write a curriculum for seekers’ small group discussions, and as an evangelist speaker for outreaches on college campuses.
